Help Save Our School!

The Lanesville Jaycees are working on a fundraiser for the Lanesville School Corporation during their time of need. As most of you know, our schools have been forced to make some very critical budget reductions.
We have been working with the principals, board members, and PTSO to get our facts together, get organized and also find out what the biggest need is for the school. Right now, paper is their largest expense. Also, the teachers tend to run low on supplies in the middle to end of the school year. Each teacher is going to provide a list of supplies that they need throughout the year and we will post them to the community so that those items can also be included. The more donations we are able to give, the less use of the General Fund money will be used. (the General Fund is the account that is used for daily operations). The Lanesville Jaycees have agreed to run this fundraiser throughout the year. It will begin on April 3rd, at our Easter Egg Hunt. The “drop-off” location will be the Jaycee Building, unless it is a time not designated, and then Sarah Tomes and Traci Despain have volunteered to be the contacts.
There are approximately 650 kids in the schools. If we can have each student bring in 1 item a month, that will be quite beneficial to the school! At this point, any help is welcomed by all.
Sarah and Traci would like to thank all of you working on this project with us. It has been quite easy to get enthusiasm from the members, as well as the community about this event! Any donations from our members would be greatly appreciated and if you know anyone who may be interested in making a donation, please forward this information.
We welcome all suggestions and ideas for other ways we can help our community during this time.
Easter Egg Hunt
Easter Egg Hunt- April 3, 2010
The Egg Hunt will start at 10am. The Lion's club will be serving breakfast starting at 9am, so come have breakfast, then enjoy the egg hunt. This is one of our projects that the community looks forward to each year, so come out and enjoy the morning with your family!
Fish Frys are here!
Our last Fish Fry of 2010 will be on Friday April 2nd starting at 5:00 pm and ending around 7:00 pm.
Come by and get a big plate full of fish, your choice of bread: white, wheat, or rye, and 2 sides: green beans, baked beans, and fries and a drink.
Lanesville is number one in the State!
After a very successful 2009, the Lanesville Jaycess ended up being the number one Chapter in the State of Indiana!
A big congratulations goes out to 2009 President Pam and the entire Chapter on another great year!
We also won Local Officer of the Year, Jaycee of the Year, Blue Chip Chapter, the Giessenbier Award, the Joe Keller Continuous Service Award, and the Pioneer Award for Most Outstanding Chapter in the State of Indiana.
Lanesville was also number one in 2005 and 2006.
